The Create Club
Daytime creative sessions for our Home Ed Community
Since we opened in 2021 we have had many enquiries about activities for children who are receiving education at home, so we are delighted to launch our brand new Create Club for 2024.
Starting this January, we will be offering sessions for 8-12 year olds, with a view to starting a second session for 13-17 years olds if the need is there (let us know if it is!)
Each session will have a different creative activity for children to explore, starting with some simple ones to get us warmed up. We have lots of ideas for other activities, both artistic and also practical (such as Sewing Machine lessons!) and we would love to hear what the children would like to try. We are trying to keep prices as low as possible and are looking into funding and membership options, we know cost can be a challenge and we hope to be able to address this in future while still being able to cover our costs.
Booking is essential, and for the early stages we ask that parents remain at the venue (hot drinks & wifi provided, or have a go yourself!)
We have worked hard to create a lovely, friendly, welcoming venue which puts people of all ages at ease and we know how important this is when helping anxious or apprehensive people get involved in something creative, and all the benefits that brings. For us, it is not the finished product at the end of the session that is important, it is watching people relax, explore and grow in confidence, and the pride on their faces as they look at what they have achieved. This is at the heart of these sessions.
Having worked in youth and community settings for many years, Jaime is an experience tutor, youth worker, group leader and mum to a struggling ND teenager! She is passionate about helping people get involved in something they will enjoy, and overcoming any barriers that might be in the way. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please do get in touch as we would love to hear from you.
