Breaking all the rules with your sewing machine - where wobbly line are welcome!
Introducing free motion embroidery and applique techniques. Basic machine skills are needed for this course.
No machine needed for this course, you are welcome to use one of ours. If you are looking to buy a machine please talk to us first as we can help!

Buttonhole Cushion Covers
Join Liz for this introduction to sewing cushions class and learn how to make beautiful buttonholes! Basic machining skills required - if you confidently can thread a machine, you can do this! All materials included but you are welcome to bring along your own fabric if you would like to.

Monthly Stitch Club
A monthly get together - bring your own projects and materials and work at your own pace but reassured by the knowledge of someone who can help if you get stuck, or who will make you a drink and chat all things textiles with you!
Stitching and stitchers of all sorts very welcome!

121 Sewing Lesson
If you haven’t used a sewing machine before, or would like a refresher our 121 sessions can focus on all the basics and get you back on your sewing journey, wherever it may take you!
Available for all ages and abilities. £25 for an hour (ish!) Get in touch and we can arrange a time to suit you!

Get to know your Sewing Machine - Adult Group Class
Perfect for those who have never used a machine, or would like a refresher. Our small group sessions are a great way to start!
Max of 4 per group, you can either bring your own machine or use one of ours.

Virtally the same as the adults class as kids are quick learners with less fears than adults!
Perfect gift for a child starting on their sewing journey - talk to us before buying a machine as we can help recommend the right machine!
Want to learn with your child - you are welcome to stay or book a place for you too, you are very welcome!!
Meet the tutors!
Jaime and Liz both teach sewing at The Makers’ House; Liz is the precise and accurate measurer which makes her a fabulous dressmaker. Jaime is more ‘make it up as you go along’ and enjoys free motion and guesstimating! Both ways work well and we are here to help you fall in love with your sewing machine!
